I agree the proposal should go with proper setup into decreasing the inflation of the network and hence making the protocol tokenomics more viable and sustainable for long term investors and users.
I do like that a flat rate is set, alternatively other protocols also implemented a minimum commission of 5% to make it sustainable for validators.

Thanks for the info! Good to know. So because we’ve done some of the heavy lifting on the CosmWasm side already, its not going to require as much work as the non EVMs typically would require. For new non EVMs we would be looking at between 2-300k. But for this we’re thinking between 75-150k. I’m thinking it will be closer to the 75k figure than the 150k.

WRT dev effort, the proposal needs to be more concrete for me to assess. In general it’s very painful to modify SDK functionality like that. The foundation tax feature is very hard to maintain across SDK upgrades, when we merge from upstream and have to resolve conflicts.
All that to say that I’d like to see more well defined functionality with concrete examples.

We might need to add that 6% network tax is just an initial number taken from Nois. After doing some calculations, we think that 1.5%-2% gives validators a base income of around 10k SCRT yearly, which is enough at current prices to sustain a validator node. I added this to the original post.

This refers to the fact that if an execution does not produce any notifications then the contract will add an attribute to the event log using random data to produce a decoy notification, which an observer cannot distinguish from a real one.

Thanks for the question! We’ve written about some privacy considerations in the spec: SNIPs/SNIP-52.md at feat/snip-52 · SolarRepublic/SNIPs · GitHub.
To summarise here: encrypted notifications have an id that is only known to the recipient, so observers watching the logs on the chain cannot know who a notification is meant for. However, we do detail a hypothetical sophisticated side chain attack...

Fully private: Observers cannot determine the recipient of a notification, nor can they tell if a notification actually occurred (i.e., indistinguishable decoys)
Can you elaborate the indistinguishable decoys functionality? Essentially my question is how will the privacy of who is subscribed to what be preserved?

The Keplr 2.0 upgrade has caused a number of issues to UX, mainly the fact it resets all viewing keys. StarShell is a good alternative for Secret.
The SecretAnalytics backend is getting closer to a state where it can be released to the public. It may be interesting to move (part of) the front-end to the Secret Dashboard both to have all information on one page, as well as tra...

Binance recently communicated to their customers that some privacy-related tokens are being made unavailable to some specific European countries. One of the tokens included in this announcement was SCRT:
To clarify: SCRT is not a "privacy coin" - transactions made with the token are public, and it's used for governance, staking, and paying on-chain gas fees, similar to Ethereum's ETH. Secret Network is a powerful platform for building privacy-preserving dApps that don't leak data. It's one of the only blockchains that can support GDPR-type regulations.
We've clarified this to Binance, and their team is re-evaluating making SCRT available to EU users.
All Web3 users - and all Web2 users - have the right to use apps that don't expose their data, preserving safety and security. Secret Network is committed to building a more secure Web3.
If you care about this mission, let Binance know you want to see SCRT available in the EU.
