We might need to add that 6% network tax is just an initial number taken from Nois. After doing some calculations, we think that 1.5%-2% gives validators a base income of around 10k SCRT yearly, which is enough at current prices to sustain a validator node. I added this to the original post.

Good feedback, you explained elsewhere that this is the standard and that the relayer fee middleware isn’t really supported in enough wallets and such yet even though its an option for our network. Will update to include this.

@ertemann posted in Signal Proposal: Upgrade Mint (Inflation) Module
I hate the current “change rate” as its complex to explain and a lever you cant pull and is very slow to react.
However, id favour an inflation value to be set to a constant rather than dynamic. i donth think thirdenings and anything like that has favoured other protocols. keeping the Gap between staking and non-staking APR only dependent on the bonded percentage is imo the way to go. it creates ...

Agree with setting a minimum min-gas-fee
if done id like to see relayer Txs to be excluded similar to how juno does this.
Although i think a burn would be cool a yes/no for me on this would be dependent on if/how inflation changes with the other proposals. If inflation is lowered I would favour dispersing TX fee revenue over burning it as it widens the staking vs non-staking APR gap meaning it a...

Hi ☃️ Snowman,
💻 The past week's tests have gone very good so far. The backend infrastructure is stable and can handle the traffic without any issues.
📚 Next week, on Monday, we will do another balance reset which means that all balances will be reset to the default 10 one, including pre-staking, badges, and roles. 👨👩👧👦 Your team will remain intact!
⏳ After this reset, we will need 2-3 days of testing and ensuring that everything works as expected, after which we will announce the official release date.
In this period, before the official release date, we will release the following updates:
1️⃣ Web version for iOS users.
2️⃣ App translated into multiple languages.
3️⃣ Chinese version which should resolve the sign-up and sign-in problem.
⏰ There will be a last reset also before the official release date, which we believe will be announced very soon.
👨👩👧👦 Please let all our ☃️ Snowmen out there know that ice is going to be officially launched soon.
All the best,
ice Team

I don’t support this for two reasons:
The first one is sybil-ing, which was already listed on the proposal.
The second is I don’t agree with the notion that the protocol needs to make private ventures sustainable. Your own validator is an example of a node thats started late and yet made it high up the rankings. Other people can/should put the same effort.

Is it a 6% tax from the 15% inflation rate? For example, if a block reward is 100 SCRT, then 6 SCRT is evenly distributed among all validators, 2% goes to the community pool, and the remaining 92 SCRT goes to stakers? What about the proposer reward bonus?

Yeah that’s pretty much what I’m trying to say, it really speaks to validators mostly and less so about how it lowers staking ROI. 1.5% is a lot less than 6% though so I welcomed that clarification in the post. I think the implications listed here and in any potential on chain proposal should include that it lowers staking ROI so that’s made more clear to non validators.

@pmuecke posted in Signaling Prop: New Validator Reward System
I think Ian is mostly referring to the fact that this proposal on its own would only increase rewards for all validators, specifically focusing on making low ranked validators more sustainable.
To see the anticipated changes as mentioned in the OP it wouldn’t need to be combined with a reduction of the inflation, which is currently also being discussed.
